When can my child start using toothpaste?
Once your child has a few teeth, you can start using a pea-size amount of fluoride-free toothpaste on the brush. Children may use fluoride toothpaste once they are able to spit out the toothpaste rather than swallow it. Ingestion of fluoride may lead to the staining of developing permanent teeth. Consult your dentist or medical doctor if you are considering using fluoride before age two.
